2009: Trimäpee Prostitution Institution fashion show and installation.

Prostitution Institution was an interactive fashion/art show and installation exploring the theme of the carbon copy kid culture we live in, and asking the question: for the love or for the money? Has the outsider now been pushed outside of the circle so far that he finds himself in the middle again?

Prostitution Institution investigated the cause and effect of art and fashion in a society where the minority can become the majority overnight, and the pressures of the mainstream are so suffocating that even the most strong willed succumb to survive. Are we purely giving in to survive; or are we selling the parts of ourselves that are hunted and craved? Fashion today is not only a commodity or garment, but also a lifestyle and way of life. Therefore fashion intersects with all other art forms including music, visual arts and other elements of design.

Trimäpee celebrated the beauty and integrity of subcultures within communities and the strength that these talents demonstrate by always evolving and forever breaking the fast-setting mould of the mundane.

The interactive fashion show exhibited Trimäpee's Autumn / Winter 09 collection entitled The Institution. The lines of fashion, art, gallery, exhibitor and audience were all merged when Trimäpee took over the NO VACANCY Gallery to present - Prostitution Institution.

2009: Trimäpee Hang your Heart in Shame

Hang your heart in shame was a fashion installation demonstrating the undesirable means to an end in the fashion world. Despite the beauty and liberty of this fantastical place, the world of fashion can also be dark and somber, exhausting its cut throat reputation.

Showcased at the Fitzroy fashion boutique/gallery The Milk Shoppe Gang during L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, the complex and tangible space was transformed into a maze like hanging installation. With clever and intriguing key hole window displays, Hang your Heart in Shame left visitors with many lingering questions; favourable and not so favourable, floating in the midst of the fashion festival.

2009: Penthouse Mouse

Trimäpee once again took part in Melbourne's most exciting guerrilla pop-up exhibition, Penthouse Mouse. A temporary fashion, arts and events space created for emerging designers and artists to showcase during the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. And, in Trimäpee's usual style, they created an exhibition display true to their eccentric style.

2008: MINI proudly driving Trimäpee at Rosemount Australian Fasion Week

Sponsored by MINI, Trimäpee staged its first solo show at Australian Fashion Week at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney's Circular Quay on the opening night — 28 April 2008.

Upon entering, guests were greeted by the Trimäpee customised MINI Clubman which displayed footage from the MINI Utopia pop up art installation the week prior.

With music composition by Mu-gen and pulsing of lights, the show began with models entering the room in black cloaks exiting in 3 different directions. The show choreography and collection was dark and complex matched with Trim¨pee customised Dr Martens and styling by Ms Fitz.

The collection synopsis: Trimäpee adopts a Frankenstein approach to design for this collection, as the garments are dissected, cut and paste and re-assembled in an unconventional manner. Masculine transforms to feminine and back again by the displacement of fabrics, structure and traditional silhouettes.

2008: Red Bull giving Trimäpee's fallen angels back their wings — After RAFW

After their first solo show at Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, Trimäpee thought it was only fair to bring the party from back with them to Melbourne.

Set in a warehouse somewhere in Fitzroy, Trimäpee's "God's Mistakes Melbourne Party" combined with the first birthday of the label's Fitzroy shop, The Milk Shoppe Gang, displayed quirky features like a vintage red phone booth and a stainless steel operating table for a DJ booth where the DJ line up: Spacey-Space, Sunshine and Mugen rocked the night away.

It was difficult to get people to go home — usually a good sign that people had fun.

Thanks to Trimäpee's sponsors, MINI, Red Bull, Absolut, Peroni, Another Bloody Water.

Just outside of Customs House in Sydney, the designers from Trimäpee displayed their artistic side in a pop up art installation prior to Australian Fashion Week. The canvas — the new MINI Clubman. Curious onlookers watched as the designers drew on the body of the car while the Red Bull DJ in their Red Bull event vehicle played some tunes.

The piece of art was driven around the streets of Sydney for the week before reaching its final resting place inside the Cargo Theatre at The Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay for Australian Fashion Week.

2008: Independent at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival

The Independent Runway supported by Trimäpee's favourite car — MINI — was an exciting show with an androgynous feel. Both male and female models hit the catwalk with minimalist expressions, black lipstick with hair tied back in a tight bun. In true Trimäpee style, the collections were edgy, cool, and very distinctly Trimäpee with its layering.
